Artwork for the 2019-2020 School Year

In quarter 1. All grades K-5 worked on a Square 1 Art Fundraiser project. They all learned about American pop Artist Jim Dine. They used his hearts as inpsiration for their project.

They used multiple types of media to create their artworks. Kinder and 1st used only oil pastels. 2nd-5th were allowed to use oil pastels, tissue paper for texture, tempera paint, tempera cakes, and/or oil pastels.

In 2nd quarter all classes learned how to paint with watercolors. K and 1st learned about Geodes. Painted one big geode using markers and water in analogous colors. Then they learned about the element of line and finished them off with some sparkle. 2nd and 3rd also learned about Geodes, painted 3 geodes using analogous colors. Then used sharpies to create organic shapes and used zentangles to fill them in. They finished them off with some sparkle and glueing them onto a complemenatry colored construction paper. 4th and 5th learned about yin and yang. They painted half of the symbol with watercolors using analogous colors. Then they completed the other half with zentangles. They finished their art piece off by cutting and gluing their yin and yang onto a complementary colored construction paper.
